Rotation and Flip Functions

GOM Video Converter includes functions that let you rotate input video in 90 degree increments (90, 180, 270 degrees) and flip horizontally or vertically. The rotation and flip functions cannot be used simultaneously.

 

Rotation Function

Often videos that have been taken using a cellphone or smartphone in landscape orientation (turned on its side) will appear sidewise after importing and playing back on your PC. This can be corrected easily by using the rotation function.

 

90 Degree Rotation (No Output Size Change)

Rotation Function
  1. 1. Add the video you want to rotate to the conversion list.
  2. 2. Click on the [Settings] button under "Output Info"on the main window.
  3. 3. Go to the "Video" tab, then check the box next to "Rotate(CW)".
  4. 4. Choose the amount you want to rotate (Clockwise), then click [OK] to close the Output Settings window.

  6. 5. Click [Start] to begin the conversion. You can confirm that the rotation was applied properly in the conversion preview window that pops up.

 

90 Degree Rotation (Output Size Change: Rotated video in center, blank space on the left and right)

  4. 3. Go to the "Video" tab, then check the box next to "Rotate(CW)"

  8. 6. Click [Start] to begin the conversion. You can confirm that the rotation was applied properly in the conversion preview window that pops up.

 

Flip Function

If you want to flip your video to reflect over a vertical or horizontal plane instead of rotate. You can use GOM Video Converter's Flip function. Using both Horizontal and Vertical Flip at the same time will have the same effect as a 180 degree rotation.

  2. 1. Add the video you want to flip to the conversion list.
  3. 2. Click on the [Settings] button under "Output Info" on the main window.
  4. 3. Go to the "Video" tab, then check the boxes next to both "Flip" and "Vertically". Click [OK] to close the Output Settings window when finished.

Horizontal Flip
